About the Role:

As the Chef at Summerset Hastings, you are accountable for the preparation, cooking and service of food to agreed standards as well as for the overall efficient and effective management of the team to ensure a quality service is provided to the residents.

This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm. The café is open Monday to Friday 8am to 2:30pm. Every second Friday we offer residents a meal night so those days you would work until approximately 6:30pm.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with creating and maintaining a beautiful café menu
  • Ensuring there is compliance to the approved Food Control Plan
  • Being part of a team that brings the best of life to all our residents
  • Complying with all food safety requirements and maintaining high level of hygiene at all times
  • Preparing and cooking set meals to residents’ satisfaction in a timely manner

About You:

You will be an experienced and passionate Chef who loves to put people at the heart of their food. You will be used to a busy kitchen where you will be preparing set meals as well as café orders. To be successful you will bring:

  • A professional cookery qualification
  • Experience working as a Cook or a Chef
  • Sound understanding of Food Safety Plans
  • A team player who loves passing on their culinary knowledge to their colleagues
