Job Description

This position requires good organizational skills, the ability to support others, and the ability to meet deadlines.  Superior communication, the ability to multi-task, take direction and determine priorities is required.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent in-house customer service to all staff and lawyers with exceptional communication / interpersonal skills
  • Working with, and performing upgrades to Microsoft Office Products Suite
  • Team player with initiative and ability to work independently, as well as managing Help Desk inquiries as necessary
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Updating antivirus and windows on current PC's and regular maintenance of Equipment i.e. computer and cell phones
  • Perform computer software upgrades, Set-up New Users and clean-up of Old Mailboxes in Outlook 
  • Install and set up software and assist in databases
  • Perform routine maintenance of office equipment and troubleshoot problem areas in a timely fashion
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues primarily Word or Outlook (synching lawyers / assistants' calendars. Out of office replies, etc. ) and manage and respond to incidents and requests 
  • Manage Exchange email distribution groups 
  • Update and maintain Record Log of User names and passwords and other related documents 
  • Maintain and upgrade Firm's IT security systems to ensure protection of systems and network 
  • Research and recommend tools and programs to improve efficiency and connectivity of staff
  • Provide training and support to staff on computers operation, programs and systems
  • Recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including repairs as needed

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Computer Programming, Computer Engineering Technician, Computer Systems Technician or similar;
  • 1-3 years related experience related experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Must be able to work independently, multi-task and prioritize numerous assignments in a fast-paced environment;
  • Previous experience and computer skills are required with Microsoft Suite of programs the firm uses; 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills providing ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Firm;
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to resolve routine situations immediately using tact, judgement and diplomacy;
  • Listens will and has an aptitude for rapid comprehension;
  • Exceptional attitude and work ethic;
  • Willingness to assist other voluntarily or as requested in a team environment;
  • Resourceful, highly motivated and able to adapt and learn quickly in applying new technical and professional skills;
  • Regular and punctual attendance;
  • Willingness and ability to support and enhance firm's presence and goals;
