Job Description

Major Responsibilities of the Position:

Purchasing and inventory management: (40%)

  • Builds models to maintain inventory within required levels, performs inventory analyses and proposes improvements to reduce stock without impacting customer deliveries
  •  Controls and coordinates all supply planning activities in order to ensure high customer service levels with optimal inventory levels.
  • Develops simulation models for shipping cost, makes proposals for cost reduction initiatives/activities, and manages execution of the initiatives, coordinating relevant stakeholders through execution.
  • Coordinates replenishment orders for the distribution warehouse with both inter-company and third party suppliers through the analysis of supply and demand via inventory management systems
  •  Issues purchase orders to third party suppliers based on the forecast and needs of the business.
  • Monitors and maintains relevant MRP-settings, sets up new materials and performs routine data clean-up and maintenance.

Continuous improvement projects: (30%)

  • Manage and support projects to improve current way of working. Develop what-if scenarios for inventory, order management, cost management and capacity utilization to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead change management efforts necessary to facilitate implementation and sustainment of inventory planning and deployment systems.
  •  Executes and communicates standard logistics KPI’s to the Supply Chain Manager and proposes improvements in current ways of working.

Internal stakeholder management: (20%)

  • Liaising with business partners for example, but not limited to, communicating proactively with Marketing/Product Management and Customer service with respect to promotional campaigns and new product launches to ensure that adequate inventory is in stock to support the activities.
  • Works closely with warehouse staff on the goods receipt process and additional NPI storage/distribution needs to ensure new materials can successfully be received into the warehouse.
  • Works with product management teams to achieve NPI targets.

Customer service level: (10%)

  •  Works with customer service on stock situation requests, optimal fulfillment of large orders
  • Measures customer service level and investigates missed deliveries.
  • Identifies and address potential fill rate issues and impacts by conducting root cause analysis and implement action plan to mitigate for future.
  • Prepares and communicates backorder and stock status reports to the sales team and customer service;

Other Duties:

  • Ad hoc projects as required to support various departments from an inventory standpoint, or within the logistics function.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in an analytical role, must be able to work with advanced Excel functions and create forecast/consumption models; ability to work with Tableau, and VBA or other programming languages is a strong plus;
  • Minimum 3 years previous SAP inventory management and purchasing experience, preferably in a medical device environment.
  • Minimum 3 years’ hands on experience with SAP’s SD and MM modules.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • International shipping/receiving experience is a plus.

  • Ability to prioritize and execute the plan to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams with strong customer focus.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability in tasks requiring high accuracy.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) particularly Excel where advanced skills are required.
  • Ability to work with Tableau
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to analyze problems and opportunities and systematically approach them to make improvements both short term and long term.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
          

  • Warehouse environment with some light lifting required
