Contract: 5 months

Key Areas of Responsibility:

·        Coordinate with UX Research lead and team members to understand and prioritize UX research needs.

·        Plan, design, and conduct UX research to inform requirements and assess usefulness and usability of projects.

·        Evolve traditional research methods to suit the fast-paced and ever evolving domain of language technology.

·        Collaborate closely with stakeholders, product managers, engineers, and designers to gather insights, build consensus around user needs, and deliver excellent solutions.

·        Make research findings convincing and actionable for both research experts and non-experts.

Identify and define new opportunities based on insights gathered

 

 

Qualifications

·        B.A. / B.S. (completed) degree in Anthropology, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Social Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Product Design, or another field in human behaviour, or equivalent practical experience.

·        Demonstrated experience working with other researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers across product areas/teams

·        Experience in UX research, utilizing methods including usability studies, contextual inquiry, and surveys

·        Fluency in Amharic and Oromo.

Additional Information

Preferred Qualifications

·        Master’s or PhD in Anthropology, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Social Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Product Design, or other fields emphasizing human behaviour.

·        Experience leveraging a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis techniques in interdisciplinary environments.

·        Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and adapt to changing schedules and priorities.

Experience with NLP (Natural language processing)
