Job Description

LiquidMetrix is seeking an experienced programmer familiar with the Microsoft development stack. The position provides the opportunity for a chosen candidate to help further develop the LiquidMetrix Market Abuse Surveillance product, from designing new algorithmic monitoring tests and news feed implementation to front-end user experience. The position offers opportunities for greenfield development while also contributing to a highly successful existing code base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Becoming familiar with regulatory change in the market place and understanding the impact on product and clients
  • Working with Product Management on new development requests and initiatives
  • Liaising with senior development and Architect to devise best strategy on implementation
  • Documenting and developing new functionality enhancements
  • Tracking and communicating work status via a standard approach

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • 2+ years of professional experience with the following technologies:
    • NET (C#) or an equivalent object oriented or functional programming language
    • SQL Server or an equivalent RDBMS
  • Ability to write efficient and reliable code
  • Ability to diagnose performance problems and optimise algorithms
  • Experience of concurrent programming
  • Familiarity with network programming and associated protocols
  • Experience of designing database schemas
  • Ability to maintain and refactor an existing code base
  • Familiarity with Version Control Systems (Git)
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation

 

The following attributes are desirable:

  • Knowledge of financial markets, with previous experience working in Market Surveillance a bonus
  • Experience of working with large-scale data sets
  • An interest in Machine Learning techniques
  • Experience with Cloud computing, specifically AWS (Redshift, S3, Kinesis)
