Job Description

Responsible for overseeing and performing a wide range of operational and facility support tasks, including but not limited to general housekeeping, sanitation, and area clean-up. Leads efforts in sweeping, painting, lubrication (oiling, greasing, etc.), and power washing to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment. 

Operates and ensures proper use of equipment such as motorized forklifts, while supporting team members in lifting and scissor lift and floor scrubber. Provides guidance and direction to others on task execution, prioritization, and adherence to safety and quality standards. 

Maintains accountability for completing assigned work efficiently and supports supervision in driving daily operations, addressing issues, and ensuring all additional duties are carried out as assigned. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  1. Perform CIP and Manual cleanings. 

  1. Maintain facility cleaning. 

  1. Oversee Sanitation team and escalate issues to Sanitation Supervisor. 

  1. Assist in investigating Food Safety and Quality issues.  

  1. Sustain Programs and Policies: develop, implement and monitor plant sanitation and hygiene program policies to ensure compliance and support business objectives 

  1. Develop SSOP 

  1. Administration Sanitation Program: responsible for developing and recommending corrective action where environmental and health hazards exist. Identify, monitor, correct and eliminate gaps between the plant practice and sanitation policies 

  1. This position will conduct audits, evaluate, teach and train to improve plant sanitation  

  1. This position is responsible for monitoring housekeeping and hygiene standards 

  1. Food Safety Requirements: the plant sanitation supervisor will ensure the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory compliance standards are being met throughout the performance of the day-to-day duties. These standards include but are not limited to: GFSI, FSMA, GMPs and HAACP/Food Safety  

  1. Act as an in-house subject matter expert for the plant related to sanitation related applications. This position will advise manufacturing engineering and other operations personnel on decisions related to food safety and sanitary design.

  2. Responsible for developing, training and monitoring food safety programs that support the sanitation and food safety in the plant. See below as an example but not a comprehensive list.  

  • Master Sanitation 

  • Monthly Self-Inspections 

  • GMP's 

  • Allergen Program 

  • Wood Policy 

  • Filter procedure 

Qualifications

Qualifications 

Education: Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.   

Related Experience: Previous relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or commercial cleaning.  

Equipment/Software Skills:  Basic computer knowledge – data entry.

Additional Information

Must consent background screening, drug screening.

Physical: Must be able to walk throughout the plant, to include walking and climbing up/downstairs.  Must have be ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and must be able to wear a respirator required. 

Sensory: Must have the appropriate level of sensory acuity (visual, hearing, speaking, smell and touch) to be able to identify and react to normal, abnormal and alarm conditions (chemicals, temperature, etc.) 

Mental/Reasoning: Must be able to logically and methodically work through and break down complex problems and processes to enable effective communication with all levels of the organization.
