This is an on-site position working out of our corporate office or from one of our plant locations: Dallas, TX; Decatur and Quincy, IL; Englewood, NJ; Hillside, NJ; Fresno, CA; Nashville, TN; and Valdosta, GA.
Job Description
The Business Analyst’s primary role is to serve as liaison and ERP relationship manager to Stratas business units. This includes understanding the business unit’s strategy, objectives, issues, and processes, bringing IT insights to business strategic planning activities, championing ERP related change, looking for ways to improve and standardize business processes, building & communicating business cases for ERP projects, coordinating with IT and outside resources to ensure quality delivery of IT services and projects, and managing projects. Business Analysts become familiar enough with some business processes to perform them, and they continually seek improvements. The Business Analyst helps manage the application portfolio for the business, including maintaining adequate process, data model and data flow documentation, developing business requirements and specification documents of moderate to high complexity for ERP applications, working with technical architects to develop system and application interface designs, developing, and executing test plans, and coordinating system implementations.
Responsiblities
- Assist in documenting business and IT processes using appropriate methods and tools.
- Supports ERP assigned system modules.
- Assists in maintaining system integrity with application of system upgrades, changes, and user updates.
- Participates in the analysis, design, customization, testing, and implementation of assigned system modules.
- Assist in developing conversion and ERP system implementation plans. Assists with data conversions.
- Participates in integration testing, conversion, and deployment activities. Helps resolve testing defects.
- Assists in training user personnel in the testing, conversion, and implementation of the ERP system. Supports training development and delivery as needed.
- Assists in preparing ERP system configuration and customization documentation as assigned.
- Promotes effective use of assigned system modules in solving business problems and improving business processes.
- Utilizes project management principles in managing work, project management tools and disciplines on project assignments.
- Effectively participates on cross-functional teams.
- Manages time effectively to meet individual and project deadlines.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience. (Experience in application development preferred).
Related Experience
- Five to Seven years’ experience in IT or a related business function.
- Five to Seven years’ experience with system configuration.
- Five years’ experience using the basic systems development life cycle: analysis, design, development, test, implementation, and support.
- Five years’ experience using or supporting a data warehouse, business intelligence software, and data analysis.
- Five years’ experience with test planning.
- Experience with documenting business and IT processes preferred.
- Experience with any system releases is highly desirable.
- Multiple full-cycle system implementation experience.
- Experience in the process industry, especially food and beverage manufacturing, is a plus.
Equipment/Software Skills
- Broad understanding of systems both from a functional and technical perspective.
- Strong understanding of all aspects of the system implementation lifecycle and a solid grasp of the methodology.
- Knowledge of cross-functional integration between system functional modules is a strong plus.
Additional Information
Physical - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to fingers, and talk or listen. The employee is required to walk and stand in our production facilities. This position occasionally requires the employee to lift to fifty pounds.
Sensory - Requires good vision, hearing and speaking capabilities. Good observation through visual and hearing is required when analyzing plant and warehouse operations. Excellent speaking skill is required for effective communication.
Mental/Reasoning - Requires a high level of mental/reasoning skills to be able to analyze complex processes and data relationships. Must have the ability to learn and retain new concepts quickly. Must have the ability to apply learning through reasoning and analysis.
