Job Description
The product stacker works along side fellow production workers and assists by manually or mechanically organizing, counting and stacking finished metal products (beams) for shipment in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
- Counts, inspects and stacks finished products as they come off the production line
- Builds secure, neat pallets according to facility specifications and weight limits
- Checks products for defects or damage and verify that labels match factory orders
- Assists machine operators and helps with setup, teardown, and minor troubleshooting
- Follows management instructions to improve work methods and prevent complaints or damages
- Adapts to changes in work priorities
- Maintains order and cleanliness by sweeping, clearing scrap, and organizing materials
- Respects environmental guidelines
- Ensures compliance with safety rules and monitors safety practices
- Wear required PPE for the job conditions including hot grip gloves for handling heated metal when necessary
- Reports all relevant information to supervisors to enable performance reporting to management by completing the end-of-shift report (documenting activities performed during the shift)
- Assists colleagues when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to frequently lift and maneuver heavy materials (up to 50 - 70 lbs) in accordance with OSHA lifting guidelines
- Experience working in a high-pace, mass production or manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and detecting anomalies
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
