Job Description
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving facility infrastructure and support systems within a manufacturing environment. This role serves as the primary technical resource for HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air systems, overhead cranes, building automation systems, and other critical utilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and infrastructure. Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems up to 480V, including panels, transformers, motors, VFDs, lighting, and controls. Maintain and service commercial/industrial HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, and refrigeration equipment. Support facility utility systems including compressed air, ventilation, plumbing, process cooling, cranes, hoists, and other support equipment. Utilize CMMS software to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and asset records. Coordinate contractors and vendors while ensuring compliance with plant safety requirements. Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and company safety standards. Support facility improvement projects, asset management, and capital planning initiatives.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
Valid HVAC License or HVAC Journeyman Certification. Valid Electrical License, Journeyman Electrician License, or equivalent certification. EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification. Valid Driver's License. Minimum 5 years of industrial facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with industrial HVAC systems, electrical systems up to 480V, compressed air systems, overhead cranes, building automation systems, and CMMS software.
Preferred Qualifications 7+ years of manufacturing facilities maintenance experience. OSHA 10/30 Certification. PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, motor controls, and predictive maintenance experience. CMRT, CFM, or FMP certifications.
