Job Description

Find the right job for everyone – Our mission reflects how design has been part of our DNA for more than a decade. Our product design organisation has evolved through this time and today we are a team of 30+ designers including Design Operations, Design System, Design Foundation & Service Design roles. We are also part of a wider UX community including our dedicated User Research team of +10 people.

As a product design organisation, we have designers in key senior leadership positions and therefore you will always have support pushing for strategical initiatives across the business.  We are spread across both the B2C and B2B sides of the business, providing an end-to-end experience, for both candidates and recruiters alike.

As a Principal Product Designer on our Foundations Team, you will be a leader through your craft, impact, and capability to identify unseen opportunities. The foundations team is an extremely senior, high-performing team that spans across both B2C and B2B and works on high-profile horizontal projects.  You will go across both B2C and B2B and provide strategic leadership to connect both sides and truly build a unique recruitment experience.

We have big plans to completely reshape the recruitment industry and this role will be critical in helping shape some of our most innovative experiences and helping craft our new design language. This is an IC role, but design leadership is expected in the form of craft, mentoring and strategic thinking. You will champion craft in a way that has never been seen in our organisation. You will use it to raise the overall maturity of the product design organization and our colleagues. You will report directly to Pedro Ventura de Oliveira, our Director of Product Design alongside the rest of the Product Design Leadership Team.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will help shape, define, and prioritise the right cross-domain experiences.
  • Shape the direction and intentionality of our design language through rigorous and innovative craft.
  • Partner directly with Product Directors across both B2C and B2B to define the right priorities and focus and bring those visions to life.
  • Play a critical role in building our strategical and highly innovative approach to prototyping.
  • Provide design direction and hold the bar for high-quality experiences to partners in Product, Engineering and Design

Qualifications

  • You have shipped real, extremely well-crafted products that had a large, demonstrable impact on real people.
  • You have an extremely high level of craft across visual and interaction design, and you can use it to inspire others.
  • You have successfully mentored others from a craft and stakeholder management perspective.
  • You are a skillful storyteller that can capture the hearts and minds of your audience.
  • You are able to clearly articulate the value of the work you produce from a business/commercial perspective.

Additional Information

We're a community here that cares about your life outside work as how you feel when you're with us. Because your job shouldn't take over your life, it should enrich it. Here are some benefits we offer:

  • Holiday - We feel work-life balance is important, so we offer every single one of our employees 29 days holiday a year, plus public holidays.  Everyone also has the option to buy or sell up to three days each year in our Holiday Flex scheme.
  • Family Leave - We understand that laying the foundations for a smooth start to family leave will also make for an easier transition back to the workplace and subject to qualifying criteria, the benefits under the Company Family schemes are more generous than required under current legislation.
  • Pension Scheme - To help our people plan for their future we offer an excellent pension scheme.
  • Medical - Access to digital GP and well-being services.
  • Charity - Each employee receives x2 additional days off every year to volunteer to charitable causes. We also give our employees the chance to 'give as they earn' meaning they can donate tax-free to a registered charity, and The Stepstone Group will match their contribution up to a value of £10 per month.
