The job at a glance 

Join our team and you’ll be responsible for leading large-scale projects to successful completion is a must-have. As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence across the portfolio, raising the bar in FE engineering with a strong focus on rigour. 

Working in the Job Discovery & Apply Portfolio department you will establish yourself as the go-to person and the portfolio level owner of frontend engineering practices and architectural standards; providing expert guidance and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Your responsibilities:  

  • Cross-Team Collaboration and Influence: Work across business units to influence and help align technical strategies, disseminate expertise, and elevate engineering practices, ensuring a cohesive approach to technology within and beyond the portfolio. 
  • Best Practices and Adoption: Lead the implementation of high-quality coding standards, design patterns, and architectural principles, while supporting and guiding all teams within the portfolio through the integration of new technologies and frameworks. 
  • Complex Problem Resolution: Engage with engineering teams to tackle intricate technical issues, leveraging your deep expertise to find robust solutions. 
  • Upskilling and Mentoring: Actively contribute to the professional development of delivery team engineers, enabling them to excel in target technologies. 
  • Autonomy and Outcome-Driven: Operate with a high degree of independence, guided by outcome-based objectives. 

Qualifications

Your skills and qualifications 

  • Expert in frontend architectures and technologies: React, TypeScript, Node.js, JavaScript. Highly proficient in Next.js; Familiar with React Native. 
  • Highly skilled in performance-oriented programming & modern software engineering toolchain technologies  
  • Experienced in leveraging design systems with observability and monitoring tools like Datadog, Grafana and Cloudwatch. 
  • Have deep knowledge of best practice in micro-frontend, microservices, event-driven architectures and responsive web design. 
  • Experience actively contributing to architecture/solution design as subject matter expert.
