Job Description

As a Senior Product Manager you will work on our Jobseeker Platform (B2C) and collaborate closely with other Product Managers, Product Directors, Product Designers, Researchers, and Software Engineers to make an impact within our core web product experience.

With a large (and growing) investment and strategic direction, focussing on harnessing AI to revolutionise an entire industry; this role will suit someone who is comfortable using analytics and research data to drive feature decisions and product improvements, which they can develop into a roadmap, keeping a balance between product discovery and product delivery, whilst maintaining a focus on innovation. 

 
Day to day 

  • Product vision:
    Drive the vision of your products and understand how it is embedded in the overall product and corporate strategy.  
    Demonstrating a comprehensive, in depth understanding of value creation in The StepStone Group overall.  
    Clarify for the teams the ‘why’ and the ‘what’ – the business priorities, vision, the requirements and the metrics to move. 
    Focus on understanding the friction points in the user journey and work with user research to confirm and validate with prototypes, user feedback and experimentation. 
    Take a data driven approach for measuring effectiveness of new features and establish improvement areas. 

  • Ownership  
    Own the prioritisation of your backlog, the discovery of strategic opportunities, enabling and empowering your team by providing product roadmaps and deliver consistently with a 'can do' attitude within a context of high alignment and high autonomy.  
    Build and maintain a robust backlog for the engineering team and clarifying requirements during planning and as required. 
    As the product moves from discovery to definition, work with user experience design, Go To Market and engineering teams to create appropriate rollout plans. 
    Develop and maintain business cases for the product and feature investments. 

  • Stakeholder management 
    This job is an individual contributor role. You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, customers, and key executives, through your use of data and thought process.  
    Work in close partnership with engineering and design to identify and manage trade-offs. 

  • Communication
    Ensure a constant communication flow and updates about status of the development and initiatives to partners and main stakeholders, offering transparency and enthusiastically communicate achievements.  
    Evangelize agile best practices and coach other teams in the domain to develop problem statements and form hypotheses for new features. 
    Participate in agile ceremonies of sprint reviews with the engineering teams. 
    Support Product operations around organization level reporting and roadshows for new feature launches. 

Qualifications

Skills, know-how and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field, or equivalent practical experience.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.  
  • Proven experience of product incubation, incrementally building and scaling up high traffic products. 
  • 6+ years working on technology-powered products as a Product Manager. 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn multiple functional areas of business e.g engineering, design, finance, sales & marketing.  
  • Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to difficult problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, trade-offs and to lay out your proposals in a well-structured, data-informed narrative.  
  • Comfort working with User research and a discovery led approach for feature backlogs. 
  • Data driven approach for building features and improving products.  
  • Experience of end-to-end product delivery in a fast paced environment. 
  • History of being a strong collaborator and consensus builder across various product and tech teams 
  • Demonstrated ability to track industry trends and understand the competitive landscape of your product.  
  • Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship. 
  • Proven ability to utilise advanced analytical skills to enable effective collaboration with data scientists or data analysts.
