Job Description

A critical component to our company strategy is modernizing our technology stack and platforms. This includes democratization of data, insights, and intelligence to power every product experience and user journey. If our vision is exciting for you, we are looking for a VP Architecture (m/f/d) to lead delivery of strategic platform initiatives and technology capabilities to unlock future business growth and potential.

Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, this position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Enterprise Architect with a robust background in SaaS solutions. The role demands a commitment to achieving exceptional customer satisfaction while aligning with the technical architecture vision. Collaborating closely with our Product and Tech teams, you will be tasked with crafting the architectural framework for our Global Platform. 

Responsibilities of the role:

Architectural Design:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise architectural framework that aligns with the Stepstone group’s strategy and goals.
  • Lead a high-performing architecture team in modernizing customer facing digital technologies and upgrading existing SaaS platforms.
  • Model enterprise level requirements, processes, information, and constraints.
  • Head processes and artifacts that drive continuous alignment between business, technology, and between distributed teams. 

Technology Strategy:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide strategic guidance on technology investments.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to inform the company's technology roadmap.
  • Model and evaluate total cost of operations for architectures and technologies.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with product management, development, operations, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of architectural solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and foster a shared understanding of architectural decisions.

Documentation and Governance:

  • Create and maintain architectural documentation, ensuring that it reflects the current state of systems and applications.
  • Establish and enforce architectural governance processes to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Establish architectural practices and standards.
  • Own observability of architectural quality and utilization of standards.

Leadership:

  • The VP Architecture will lead a team of enterprise architects to support the business in achieving the strategy.

Qualifications

Skills, know-how and experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Technology with a minimum of 6 years in a Technical Architect capacity, having also supervised technical architects/resource management.
  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect in the 2sided markets, online advertising, HR systems,  SaaS industry, highly preferred.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing scalable and secure SaaS solutions.
  • Expertise with AWS and cloud native architectures and technologies
  • Proven successes with distributed applications, API design, microservices
  • Experienced with leading the development of enterprise and architectural standards.
  • Background in agile and scaled agile teams, systems, and architectural practices.
  • Ability to create artifacts and processes. 
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with remote/geographically distributed teams.
  • Ability to lead effectively and collaborate as a cross-functional peer.
  • Analytical and process-oriented with an innovation mindset.
  • Adept at making decisions and anticipating roadblocks with minimal information.
  • Superior communication, analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.
