Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator with a comprehensive all-round skill set who can work within a distributed team. As a System Administrator at The StepStone Group, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our Corporate IT Systems and Infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across various technologies and platforms worldwide. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience with a wide range of technologies, Active Directory (hybrid), VMWare, storage technologies, Azure administration, Okta, JAMF, common scripting languages such as PowerShell and bash, network technologies (MPLS, Meraki, classic Cisco), ISE, WLC, as well as being familiar with utilising APIs to automate common tasks. Ideally you have some knowledge about automation technologies such as Terraform and its associated tech stack.
What will this role look like on a day-to-day basis?
- Manage and maintain the company's Active Directory infrastructure, ensuring user accounts, permissions, and security policies are appropriately configured and updated.
- Administer VMWare environments, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting virtual machines.
- Handle storage technologies, optimizing storage capacity and performance, and implementing data backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Azure administration including IAM, managing Azure AD, and other Azure services effectively.
- Security focused mindset and working knowledge around Crowdstrike, web proxy, DLP and CASB in conjunction with ZTNA framework
- Setup and maintain Okta and JAMF to manage user identity and access control, device management, and application deployment.
- Create and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to automate routine tasks, enhance system efficiency, and streamline processes.
- Work with network technologies such as MPLS, Meraki, and classic Cisco equipment, ensuring smooth network operations and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Possess a deep understanding of Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) technologies, implementing and managing secure network access.
- Familiarity with APIs and the ability to integrate systems and services to improve overall infrastructure functionality.
- Provide some expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS), assisting in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of cloud-based services.
Qualifications
Some skills you might have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, showcasing all-round skills in the mentioned technologies and platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory fundamentals, VMWare, and storage technologies.
- Extensive experience in Azure administration, including Azure AD and other Azure services.
- Deep familiarity with Okta and Jamf for identity management and device/application deployment.
- Strong Security focused mindset
- Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell and/or Bash for automation purposes.
- Thorough understanding of network technologies, including MPLS, Meraki, and classic Cisco equipment. Experience with ISE and WLC is highly desired.
- Ability to work with APIs and integrate systems effectively.
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-based services is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and end-users. The operational Language is English.
