Job Description

The Senior Manager, HR Operations is an innovative thinker, exceptional executor, and people-oriented team player. This role is responsible for designing and implementing HR policies and processes, creating best-in-class HR operations and system improvements to support our employees and business, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving HR systems, and ensuring compliance by maintaining a strong knowledge base for employment law. To be successful in this role, you will need to build relationships across the People team and a diverse group of stakeholders, understand the business needs, and leverage data to drive analytics and insights to support business objectives. This person will also need to have a keen eye for detail, creativity, a learning mindset, and be tech savvy to support the organization. 

Job Responsibilities  

  • Work closely with the People team to drive quality and timely delivery of critical HR processes and employment policies  
  • Responsible for designing, improving, and maintaining locally compliant handbooks, employment policies, and procedures that support our culture and business needs 
  • Responsible for immigration, relocation and expatriate policies, processes, and procedures 
  • Responsible for employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including driving continuous improvement to reduce administrative burden and improve employee experience 
  • Maintain knowledge of employment law for North America, staying up to speed on regulatory changes, trends and best practices and recommending changes to HR policies and procedures that maintain compliance while supporting our unique culture 
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with in-house legal counsel to inform policies and procedures   
  • Serve as technical point of contact for all HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across systems. Develop HR process and system improvements to enhance the employee experience 
  • Participate in global HR workstream to ensure HRIS solution designs meet Appcast business requirements and support our culture; lead testing initiatives 
  • Partner with global partners to ensure HR technology is designed, tested and rolled out with supporting reporting features and dashboards to meet the needs of the People team and the business partners 
  • Develop and deliver HRIS training to the People team and business partners 
  • Compile, structure, and analyze HR data to produce insights and recommendations to inform business decisions and improve HR processes 
  • Partner cross-functionally to support and serve as operational excellence within HR; lead policy and procedure implementation across HR  
  • Be a trusted resource for data and process knowledge; Lead optimization initiatives for continuous improvement in people processes, systems, and data  
  • Be comfortable making good decisions and recommendations with the information available. This sometimes means modifying existing basic policies or past practices, operating in the gray areas, and creating processes and policies to be more clear and specific with minimal gray areas 

Qualifications

  • Strong North America employment law and HR operating experience; UK experience a plus 
  • Previous experience as an HRIS administrator or at minimum, excellent knowledge and experience using an HRIS platform (TalentSoft, Workday or similar),  implementing system features, and providing HR metrics and analytics 
  • Previous experience designing and implementing policies and processes that support company culture and maintain compliance with employment law 
  • Excellent project management experience

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or relevant field is strongly preferred 
  • 10+ years of HR experience directly supporting HR operations, a client group or business unit in HR operations (areas including payroll, benefits, HRIS management) 
  • Global HR experience is a plus 
  • Advanced skill set in Microsoft office suite 

Travel Requirements

  • Regular travel is not required for this role, although the occasional trip might present itself for business needs.  

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position may have two direct reports. 

Work Location and Schedule

  • This is a hybrid position with work completed in one of our office locations and a remote home office. 
  • Typical schedules will be three days working in the office location and the remainder of week from home, however, may vary based on business or work/life balance needs.
