Job Description

As an UX Writer you will work in a cross-functional and growing team of talented designers, copywriters and product owners, you will be a part of our global Brand Experience function, reporting to the Team Lead Copy. 

You will bring excellent copywriting skills to the team, helping us to achieve and exceed the high standards we've set. You’ll know that it’s not just what we say, but how we say it - and you’ll know that good copy can be a distinct brand asset that increases the effectiveness of communications and product. In this role, you’ll be skilled at embracing a brand’s tone of voice and making it your own. 

Your writing can flex from on-site microcopy, through engaging email alerts to short and snappy banner ads - putting punchy calls to action at their core. In short: you’ll always find the right words to hook our users throughout their journey. 

Responsibilities

  • You bring our tone of voice to life in our products and craft words to meet human needs in the jobs space 
  • You drive the craft of words across experiences at StepStone including web, mobile and email 
  • You collaborate closely with our product and UX teams providing carefully designed microcopy for A/B testing and helping to optimise the overall user experience 
  • You support in developing the English tone of voice and help upskill teams across the business in copywriting best practice  
  • You work closely with product, UX, and research teams 

Qualifications

Skills, know-how and experience

Must have:  

  • You are a native English speaker with excellent command of grammar and orthography - knowledge of German or Spanish is a plus 
  • You have at least 4 years of experience in professional UX and/or digital writing - at a creative agency, a digital agency, or an in-house function at a digital company 
  • You write perfectly tuned copy that is a thumb-stopper, drives conversion and retention at various stages in the marketing funnel 
  • You are familiar with best practices of UX writing and SEO basics 
  • You have a passion for finding the exact words for headings, labels, calls to actions, and errors 
  • You are experienced working with a brand tone of voice and know how to adapt it for all kinds of digital touchpoints 
  • You’re passionate about diving into the world of jobs and recruiting, and want to contribute to our vision: The right job for everyone.
