To accomplish our mission, we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist (f/m/d) Reinforcement Learning Berlin, Düsseldorf.

You will contribute with research combining multiple types of data, recent technologies, and machine learning techniques (see below) to improve and advance the current state of JobTech. While this is a rather technical role you will work in a highly interdisciplinary team and join our international data science community.

Job Description

  • Together with other data scientists and engineers, you will analyze vast amounts of data to understand how different product channels interact with each other and how they contribute to StepStone as a valuable platform for jobseekers.
  • You will investigate the impact and interplay of components for content extraction, matching, and recommendations to make our 2-sided matching market more efficient.
  • Your focus will be on exploring and applying different techniques from reinforcement learning, multi arm bandits, and online machine learning to optimize user journeys, recruiter experiences, and internal processes.
  • You will regularly discuss your findings with other peers and experts from labor economics, data ethics, marketing, and product development to assess their implications.

Qualifications

  • You have a degree or work experience with a strong focus on machine learning (ideally in an industrial or applied research environment). Applied experience with reinforcement learning, algorithmic game theory, or differential privacy is a strong plus.
  • You have good programming skills in Python or a comparable language that make you comfortable implementing non-standard machine learning methods.
  • You enjoy understanding statistical learning algorithms and applying these insights to real world problems.
  • You work in a self-driven, problem-solving style and enjoy experimenting and exploring new territory – for example, building proofs of concept to illustrate your approaches and to run experiments that test the performance of models in the wild.
