GBS has recently been established as a dedicated organisational unit with a clearer and more explicit mandate for finance service delivery across the Statkraft group. The role reflects Statkraft's ambition to further strengthen standardisation, service performance, automation and continuous improvement across operations. The Senior Vice President, Head of GBS will lead Statkraft's Global Business Services Finance organisation and be accountable for the delivery, control and continuous improvement of finance services across the Group.
The position has responsibility for ensuring efficient, reliable and cost-effective finance service delivery through standardised, scalable and well-controlled processes. Operating at the centre of Statkraft's finance operating model, the SVP will ensure the consistent execution of transactional finance activities, unit-level financial reporting and selected compliance-related services across the organisation.
As a member of the CFO Leadership Team, the SVP will play a key role in advancing operational excellence across finance. The position carries a clear mandate for service delivery, process performance, standardisation, automation and continuous improvement, while working closely with Finance leadership and Business Area stakeholders across the Group.
A significant aspect of the position is the continued development of GBS as a dedicated service organisation. The successful candidate will lead efforts to harmonise processes, improve service quality, strengthen operational controls and enhance productivity through simplification, automation and digital enablement.
The position works closely with the EVP CFO, CFO Leadership Team, SVP Financial and Sustainability Reporting, SVP Performance Management, SVP Legal & Tax, Business Area Finance leaders, country finance teams and key Group functions. The successful candidate will operate at the centre of Statkraft's finance organisation and play a critical role in enabling collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
Job Description
The SVP Head of GBS is accountable for the governance, performance and execution of services within the unit’s scope, as defined in the GBS Operating Model, including:
Service delivery and operational performance
- Accountable for the delivery of end-to-end high-volume, transactional services across the Group within agreed service scope, standards and service levels
- Ensures timely, accurate and reliable delivery of accounting support, controlling support, payment services and unit-level reporting services
- Monitors and improves service performance through clear KPIs, service reviews, escalation mechanisms and continuous follow-up of deviations
Standardisation, simplification and transformation
- Drives standardisation, simplification and harmonisation of relevant processes within GBS in line with the target operating model
- Leads continuous improvement, automation and digital enablement of service delivery to improve quality, productivity and scalability
- Acts as a key execution partner in finance transformation programmes and implementation of new processes, systems and ways of working
Quality, controls and compliance support
- Ensures robust process controls, consistent documentation and compliant execution in accordance with applicable policies, standards and regulatory requirements
- Supports statutory, tax and audit processes through reliable execution, high-quality data and timely issue resolution
- Identifies and manages operational risks and control weaknesses in close cooperation with relevant group functions
Governance, interfaces and service orientation
- Ensures clear roles, handovers and interfaces between the GBS unit and adjacent line functions, including Financial and Sustainability Reporting, Performance Management, Legal & Tax and Business Area Finance
- Delivers services with a strong customer and stakeholder orientation, balancing efficiency, quality, control and responsiveness
- Contributes to the further development of the broader finance area, while respecting that policy ownership, financial interpretation and business decision support remain with the relevant line functions
People leadership and organisational development
- Leads and develops the unit to ensure safe, engaged and high-performing teams with the capabilities required to deliver on current and future business priorities
- Promotes a strong service culture, collaboration mindset, accountability and continuous improvement across the organisation
- Oversees planning, budgeting and performance follow-up for the unit in line with agreed mandates and decision authorities
The SVP will report to the EVP CFO and be a member of the EVP CFO management team. Mandates and decision authorities are defined in the Group Authority Matrix and the applicable operating model
Qualifications
Statkraft is seeking an accomplished finance operations and transformation leader with experience operating in large, complex and international organisations. The successful candidate will combine strong operational leadership with a track record of driving standardisation, continuous improvement and organisational change at scale.
The successful candidate will bring a combination of operational excellence, transformation capability and people leadership, together with the ability to build strong partnerships across a matrixed environment.
Experience and Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline
- Extensive leadership experience from large, preferably international and process-driven organisations
- Excellent understanding of shared services and end-to-end transactional processes
- Proven experience in standardisation, automation, process optimisation and operational excellence within finance
- Experience in running Global Business Service centres
- Experience leading transformation, system implementation and organisational change in complex environments
- Significant leadership experience within large-scale, international and process-driven organisations
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate constructively across functions, Business Areas and geographies
- Strong delivery orientation with a clear focus on service quality, efficiency, resilience and continuous improvement
- Sound judgement, high integrity and the ability to make decisions in a regulated and operationally demanding environment
- Sound understanding of accounting principles, internal controls and compliance requirements sufficient to lead high-quality and compliant execution
- Excellent communication skills in an international environment
