We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our GBS Invoice to Pay team based in our Cork office on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
GBS finance is a centre of expertise and currently serves over 20 regions in Statkraft. Statkraft has an ambitious growth target within renewable energy in Europe, and one of GBS Irelands key roles is to provide shared accounting services to a growing number of entities. Today Unit Reporting Ireland provides financial reporting services within the Statkraft Group to 64 subsidiaries in Ireland.
Job Description
As an Accounts Assistant, your main responsibilities will be:
- Postings of sales and purchase invoices inSAP in accordance with the Statkraft “Procure to Pay” policy.
- Reconciling Purchase orders to invoices and flagging any variations.
- Coordinating with Invoice to Pay team leads to ensure standardisation of processes.
- Control reconciliations for all key Balance sheet items.
- Assisting with preparation and filing of various tax and VAT forms.
- Assisting with statutory external Audits and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Assisting with month end reporting and analysis as required.
- Additional or alternative tasks as required from time to time by the finance team.
- Execution of payment runs and posting of bank statements
- Assistance with ad hoc reporting to third party clients.
- Participation in process optimisation and digitalisation initiatives
Qualifications
- A minimum bookkeeping qualification (Accounting Technician, IATI, ATI or equivalent) is preferred.
- Previous accounts payable and general ledger experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SAP is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new software and systems, including SharePoint, online banking platforms and internal control systems.
- General tax knowledge, particularly in the areas of VAT and RCT.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
