As a Senior Analyst in the Strategic Market Analysis team, you will work on fundamental power market analysis in European markets, combining quantitative modelling with market insights. In your role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation to support investment, asset, and strategy decisions.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Track developments in energy and power markets, identify key trends, and apply market modelling to understand their impact
  • Develop and improve analytical methods, models, and core deliveries to strengthen decision-making
  • Translate analysis into clear and relevant insights through presentations and written material, supporting investments, valuations, and strategy
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation and contribute to strategy and commercial processes

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, with strong academic performance
  • Proven hands-on experience with fundamental power market modelling (e.g. BID3 or similar tools such as Plexos, EMPS, SDDP or TIMES), including building, running, and interpreting model results
  • Strong programming skills (Python or equivalent), with demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and automate analytical workflows
  • Proven ability to work with and influence a range of stakeholders across functions (e.g. commercial, trading, strategy), including aligning analysis with decision-making needs
  • Track record of delivering quantitative analysis and translating results into clear insights that inform strategic or commercial decisions (e.g. strategy, valuation, trading, or investment)
  • Highly structured and analytical, with strong attention to quality, and the ability to connect analysis to broader market dynamics and decision-making
