We are looking for professionals with backgrounds in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or Business to join Statkraft’s Automated Flexibility Trading team.
Statkraft’s Automated Flexibility Trading team operates at the intersection of asset flexibility, market volatility and algorithmic decision‑making. Our systems make millions of real‑time decisions every day across intraday, balancing and ancillary services markets, directly shaping PnL. As we scale this capability across Spain, Italy and France, we are looking for a Lead Commercial Analyst to take commercial ownership of flexibility optimisation in the region.
Why Statkraft?
Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. That’s what we offer. 125 years of unrivalled expertise in supplying the world with what it needs most. Because in the fight against climate change, we don’t see renewable energy as part of the solution. We believe it must be the solution. With us, you’ll shape a career that is truly forward-facing with many amazing opportunities and offerings to match.
But there’s more work to be done. That’s why we need you to join us.
Energy markets are becoming more complex, more volatile and more data‑driven. Success increasingly depends on real‑time optimisation and the smart use of flexibility from both, Renewable Assets and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to maximise value creation.
Statkraft is strengthening its end‑to‑end market capabilities across Europe, combining long‑term origination with sophisticated short‑term optimisation and trading. Southern Europe – and Spain/France/Italy in particular – is playing an increasingly important role in this journey, expanding into short-term trading and BESS optimisation, supported by strong collaboration across Statkraft’s European market organisation.
Madrid offers the opportunity to work close to the market, close to assets and close to decisions. You will help build the flexibility backbone of Southern Europe, being of a high‑performing, international environment where technology, analytics and commercial judgement come together to unlock value from renewable and flexible portfolios.
For professionals who want responsibility, growth and the chance to make a real commercial impact in the energy transition, Statkraft in Madrid is a compelling next step.
