Job Description
Statkraft is Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy and a growing force in the U.S. environmental commodities markets. We are committed to accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future by developing innovative solutions in renewable energy and environmental products. Our Origination team plays a key role in sourcing and managing long-term portfolios of renewable energy and environmental commodities, including carbon offsets, allowances, and related instruments.
As a Portfolio Manager for US Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), you will lead the development and execution of strategies under various state Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS). You will manage a dynamic portfolio of REC products, support deal structuring, and collaborate across teams to drive innovation and value in the renewable energy space.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies for US REC markets, including pricing, risk assessment, and market analysis.
- Manage and optimize a portfolio of REC contracts, ensuring alignment with commercial and risk objectives.
- Collaborate with originators to structure and price long-term offtake agreements and bespoke REC solutions.
- Monitor regulatory developments and market trends to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
- Work with cross-functional teams to manage risks and identify synergies with power and renewable portfolios.
- Enhance portfolio management tools and contribute to valuation and risk infrastructure development.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in environmental markets, with a focus on RECs and portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of US REC markets and Renewable Portfolio Standards.
- Quantitative (Python, SQL, Excel) and analytical skills with experience in structured environmental contracts.
- Familiarity with risk management and trading strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and attention to detail.
