            Job Description

            We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Occupational Safety for a temporary position based in Lima, Peru. This critical role will be responsible for leading our occupational safety management efforts, ensuring the implementation of robust controls and accident prevention strategies for both our staff and contractors.

            • Develop and execute local and corporate strategies for accident prevention among personnel and contractors
            • Manage the implementation of effective controls for accident prevention, derived from risk assessments, legal regulations, and corporate guidelines
            • Implement and oversee an Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with current regulations and continuous improvement needs
            • Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal corporate requirements in the field
            • Lead and organize a team of field supervisors, distributing their presence according to business needs and risk levels
            • Manage the Safety Development Program for contractors, including prevention at all stages of service or contract
            • Oversee accident and incident management, ensuring thorough investigation, cause identification, and implementation of action plans
            • Manage accident statistics on digital platforms and implement lessons learned from major accidents, both local and international
            • Advise on accident investigations and participate in investigation committees
            • Promote a culture of safety and prevention through ongoing initiatives and training programs

            Qualifications

            • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical-Electrical Engineering, Safety and Industrial Hygiene Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields
            • Minimum of 10 years of experience in occupational safety, with at least 5 years in the energy sector managing geographically dispersed sites
            • Proven experience in developing and implementing Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
            • Strong knowledge of legal regulations applicable to the energy sector in Peru, specifically in Occupational Health, Safety, and Hygiene
            • Extensive experience in accident investigation and implementing solutions to mitigate and eliminate risks
            • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and establish effective supervision strategies
            • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
            • Fluency in Spanish and intermediate to advanced English (both oral and written)
            • Strong leadership and team management skills
            • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
            • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills
            • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
            • Willingness to travel to high altitude locations as required
            • Experience in implementing management tools and controls oriented to the needs of Operations and Maintenance areas
