About the team

As a part of the Risk innovation team (RiskIT) developer team, you will be working in a developer team that is predominantly coding in Python to create custom business solutions as a service. The team works across the trading, risk, and reporting processes in Statkraft. You will be joining a mature team focused on improving business processes using containerized Python solutions. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced developers specialized in diverse areas and share knowledge with them. You will also collaborate with business users in many parts of the company and will learn a lot about our proprietary trading, origination business, risk metrics calculations and market access activities.

  • Eager to work in a team of developers together to automate manual tasks and create custom business solutions as we work in a team approach to deliver our service – Lead & deputy co-developing per task
  • Work together with the business users and/or assist to develop systems that solves complex business problems - e.g having weekly calls with business to understand the needs and translate to IT solution
  • Maintain and improve applications based on using tools like Jira, Gitlab, Azure Kubernetes, Docker

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in software development, operations or a mix
  • 2+ years of development experience in high level languages (C# and Python preferred)
  • Extensive experience with setting up CI pipelines (Gitlab and Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Proficient in leveraging the Pandas library for complex data manipulation tasks, excelling in code efficiency and readability.
  • Real world experience in writing highly testable Python code, backed by robust unit and integration tests for improved code quality

Soft Skills

  • Be eager to learn about latest trends and technologies
  • Good social and communication skills including the ability to translate technical jargon into simple terms
  • Pro-active team player who feels responsible and enjoys challenging themselves
  • Enjoy interacting with our customers on a regular basis
  • Open to giving and receiving feedback as well as share knowledge
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluent in English

Other useful skills:

  • Know-how of Kubernetes (Containerization) and Docker
  • Passionate about writing secure code as well as being up to date with standards on securing applications
  • Experience with services like AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), Azure app service or Beanstalk is a big plus
