Job Description
The Operations and Risk unit in Statkraft’s Market segment is the hub of all operations supporting our Trading and Origination activities, and Asset Management for Europe & US. The department is responsible for all processes and operations in the Back Office Europe & US, Risk Management, New Products & Investment Support, and the Digitalization Office for supporting our Trading & Origination activities. The responsibility of the unit is to ensure accurate and high-quality results in all operational activities to support Statkraft’s growth ambitions.
The mission of the Digitalization Office is to create value for Statkraft’s Trading & Origination activities by providing state-of-the-art digital solutions to Trading, Origination, Operations & Risk and Finance, with a strategic and professional interface towards IT. Digital solutions include systems and solutions, but also data and data governance.
In our Finance, Risk, and Portfolio Management Platform team, we are now looking for a colleague to take the role of Business Analyst for our Energy Trading and Risk Management and Credit Risk solutions fleet.
The team is responsible for owning the business-critical IT solutions in the finance, risk-, and portfolio management domain and currently consists of 11 colleagues but will be ramping up to cover a larger scope of solutions going forward.
Our ETRM and CR solutions play a pivotal role in achieving the company’s strategic goals by supporting business processes and stakeholders front-to-back across Europe and the United States. We manage these solutions as products and are responsible for the prioritization and planning of their further development. As Business Analyst for Beacon your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting product development and projects, ensuring that the products meet the evolving needs of our business processes and stakeholders.
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders from the business and IT departments to understand their requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
- Working closely with the development teams to provide clear and comprehensive documentation, including user stories, use cases, and process flows.
- Provide support for the lifecycle management of trades, PnL and Risk KPI calculation, and data.
- Collaborating with the Product Owners and the Product Managers to facilitate the planning of product deliveries.
- Participating in the testing and quality assurance activities, ensuring that the product deliveries meet accurately the specified requirements.
- Assisting in the creation of training materials and functional user documentation, and conducting training sessions for our users
Qualifications
- Higher education in finance, economics, or engineering with strong academic results.
- Several years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the commodity trading industry or financial services sector.
- A proven understanding and genuine interest in commodity markets, finance, and risk.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable specifications.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, enabling you to identify issues, propose solutions, and make fact-based recommendations.
- Continuous improvement mindset and experience from improving and optimizing deliveries related to a product.
- Experience with Agile product development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; German or Norwegian is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of Python will be advantageous.
