Job Description

The Operations and Risk unit in Statkraft’s Market segment is the hub of all operations supporting our Trading and Origination activities, and Asset Management for Europe & US.  The department is responsible for all processes and operations in the Back Office Europe & US, Risk Management, New Products & Investment Support, and the Digitalization Office for supporting our Trading & Origination activities. The responsibility of the unit is to ensure accurate and high-quality results in all operational activities to support Statkraft’s growth ambitions.

Our ETRM solutions play a pivotal role in achieving the company’s strategic goals by supporting business processes and stakeholders front-to-back across Europe and the United States. We manage these solutions as products and are responsible for the prioritization and planning of their further development. As Business Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting product development and projects, ensuring that the products meet the evolving needs of our business processes and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders from the business and IT departments to understand their requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Facilitating workshops and meetings to gather user requirements, summarize feedback, and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
  • Working closely with the development teams to provide clear and comprehensive documentation, including user stories, use cases, and process flows.
  • Collaborating with the Product Owners and the Product Managers to facilitate the planning of product deliveries.
  • Participating in the testing and quality assurance activities, ensuring that the product deliveries meet accurately the specified requirements.
  • Assisting in the creation of training materials and functional user documentation, and conducting training sessions for our users.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the performance of the products from a business perspective, identifying any issues or bottlenecks, and proposing appropriate improvements.

Qualifications

  • Higher education in Finance, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science with strong academic results.
  • Several years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the commodity trading industry or the financial services sector.
  • Solid understanding of business processes front-to-back, such as deal entry and validation, clearing, and risk management, to name a few.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, enabling you to identify issues, propose solutions, and make fact-based recommendations.
  • Proficiency in using business analysis tools and techniques, such as process modeling, requirements gathering, and data analysis.
  • Experience with Agile product development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; German is beneficial.
