Working in Trading & Origination (T&O): 

As part of the Trading & Origination Department, the Origination division concludes non-standard, structured and often complex transactions in wholesale energy markets. Our local team across Amsterdam and Warsaw are responsible for PPAs and power origination in Poland and The Netherlands. 

The vacancy is in the Global Environmental Markets team, which is responsible for sourcing, balancing, and selling environmental commodities linked to Statkraft’s own assets as well as the assets of our customers around the globe. The team is in Amsterdam, London, and Warsaw. This position is for the Amsterdam office.

Job Description

 

  • Focus will be to originate and trade Energy Attribute Certificates, specifically REGOs & GOs. There is scope to expand the product scope to other environmental commodities
  • Conceptualize, evaluate, and implement effective trading strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong and long-term relations with customers and business partners.
  • Manage end to end processes from origination, contracting to trading around the portfolio positions.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members and support units to ensure proper management and the execution of the trades.
  • Maximize value creation by co-ordinating with other origination teams on similar or related products.

Qualifications

  • Proven trading experience within environmental or commodity markets, ideally with an established network of counterparties.
  • Strong negotiation and intrapersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to perform multiple tasks under time pressure and in challenging environment.
  • Good team player with a high level of personal integrity.
  • University degree in numerate subject, e.g., economics, finance, science, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Fluent in English; strong command of another European language is an advantage.
