Job Description

In the role as Consultant - Team Lead Electrical, we are seeking a competent, self-driven and committed individual. This is a contractual position.        

Roles & Responsibilities:

Construction Supervision: Experience in the construction of Pooling/ Substations (220 KV or above) in the Power Distribution sector, with at least 6 years of HV / EHV Substation.

Should have good technical knowledge of the health parameters of equipment used in the transmission system, and an understanding of testing and calibration instruments used for substations and transmission lines.

  • Must have Knowledge of the Installation of Solar Panels and their Electrical connections.
  • Installation of Inverter (Central or String).
  • Installation of Transformers, HT/LT Panel, Switchgears, VCB, UPS etc. at the site.
  • SCADA Installation
  • To understand the project drawings, SLDs, and Installation designs aspects of primary equipment like a transformer, Circuit Breakers, CT, CVT, PT, LA, HT/C&R panel of the substation.
  • To ensure the construction work as per the approved design and drawing for all phases of engineering construction relating to equipment erection and testing.
  • Daily monitoring of construction progress, considering quality concerns and ensuring job site safety considerations are addressed. It will also include the monitoring of overall transmission line work (33kV to 220/230kV) and bay-end substation construction work.
  • Perform all daily inspections to achieve the quality of construction indicated in the drawings and specifications for all works performed by the contractor.
  • Inspection of incoming material on a random basis at site level before installation. Further, verification of all the technical documents such as Material Test Certificates (MTC), MDCC, factory test reports and warranty-related documents. If found any issues during the inspection, then prepare material inspection report for the faulty material.

Material Management: Coordinate the EPC contractor, delivery, and storage of electrical equipment/ materials required for AC/DC works. Maintain inventory records, and material usage, and ensure that the right materials are available when needed.

Safety Compliance: Ensure that all erection & installation activities adhere to the safety regulations and guidelines. Conduct regular safety inspections, promote safety culture among workers, and take necessary actions to mitigate potential risks or hazards.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of erection & installation checklist, including daily progress reports, material usage, and any incidents or delays. Prepare regular reports summarizing the project's status and communicate updates to the project manager.

Coordination with Stakeholders: Collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders, such as civil engineers, and project manager, to ensure seamless integration of erection & installation activities with other project components.

Qualifications

We are looking for experienced personnel with the essential qualifications and skills that include:

  • BE/ Electrical with more than 10 years of experience in electrical equipment’s erection & installation works.
  •  Experience- Min. +6 yrs. as an Electrical Site In-charge on a solar project in a MW scale.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality technical reports within the predefined deadline.
  • Knowledge of the software AutoCAD is mandatory and drawing review.
  • Strong understanding of solar energy principles, photovoltaic systems, and solar power plant components.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards related to solar power plant design and installation.
