Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Do you believe that “user experience” and “enterprise” are not mutually exclusive? Are you excited by the idea of building clean, engaging interfaces that people use every day to run their business? Are you passionate about prototyping dynamic user interfaces in JavaScript/HTML5 and bringing them to a polished, bug-free launch?

 

NuORDER is looking for a Senior Front End Engineer with a great design aesthetic, solid JavaScript skills and the desire to work with emerging technologies, in a fast paced, iterative development environment.  We need someone who wants to take ownership of their projects, help mold them, constantly pushing our system and the company forward.

 

Specifically…

 

  • On a daily basis, you will be involved in the planning, designing, and building of large scale projects related to our core business objectives.
  • You’ll be responsible for implementing client facing features and for ensuring that our visual interface is attractive, consistent and employs best practices.
  • What you won’t do is spend all your time in meetings (we get that, and we’re here to save you).

 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

 

  • EDUCATION: BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5+ years of web/SaaS software development.
    • Client-focused mindset with an understanding of and respect for awesome user experience.
    • Very strong level of understanding of JavaScript development and best practices.
    • Experience merging functionality and experience into something cohesive.
    • Expert level knowledge of HTML, CSS, and cross browser development.
    • Extensive experience working with highly asynchronous code.
    • Have hands-on working experience with RESTful APIs.
    • Experienced enough to know when to build something from scratch and when not to.
    • Previous experience working with large and complex data sets a plus.
    • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology, working with Node.js and MongoDB is another plus.
    • Experience working with Amazon Web Services a big nice-to-have.
    • And of course, an interest in fashion is a bonus.
