Job Description

Summary of the role    

The Pre-sales Architect will be the technical interface for clients looking to implement new solutions in the realm of data engineering, management, ML and cloud-based applications. The role will address customer’s needs in order to offer the most appropriate technical solutions, in coordination with the  Starschema and HCL sales teams.

The pre-sales architect will typically work with clients who are exploring a new or deeper engagement with Starschema. These customers typically have a certain budget and a set of use-cases / problems that need a solution. The pre-sales architect walks with the client on a solutioning journey where an idea is fleshed out into a set of artifacts that the delivery team can absorb and execute. These artifacts would be among others specification, architecture, a technology environment and a project plan.

Pre-sales architects usually manage multiple client tracks and are most actively involved in the project sales and the ramp-up phase of the delivery.

What You Will Do Daily

  • Introduce Starschema offerings on both a business level and deep technical level to existing and new clients alike.
  • Participate in joint client-vendor solutioning workshops, rapidly absorb requirements and turn into solution proposals.
  • Proactively build new knowledge and skills about emerging technologies from the following fields: AI/ML, databases, ETL tools, cloud tech, programming languages. Incorporate new learnings into innovative client offerings.
  • Design, documentation and development of data models.
  • Design infrastructure management strategies to meet uptime and monitoring SLA’s.
  • Build proof-of-concept / prototype solutions.
  • Daily written and oral communication with the clients and the other developers.
  • Creating functional and technical documentation.
  • Frequent presentations to the clients

Qualifications

We Want to Hear from You, If You Have

  • Multiple years of experience in delivering on large scale software consulting projects. The ideal candidate has seen it all, from requirement gathering to production support.
  • Experience in process and data modelling, mapping models to a deliverable project (architecture, timelines, budget, project plan, etc).
  • Strong collaboration experience with business users; understanding the business data and connections.
  • Strong experience in architecting new solutions on cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent knowledge of any of the following languages Python, Go, Java or C#.
  • Excellent SQL knowledge, experience in any of PLSQL, T-SQL, PSQL.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to multi-task

Advantage:

  • Knowledge in any of the following: AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, ETL tools, AI/ML tools, SQL/noSQL databases, knowledge/experience with DataViz tools.
