Payroll Specialist

Job Description

We’re looking for our next team member to manage Starschema’s own payroll processing and maintain employee records. Here, you will be able to work independently, and manage payroll administration for approx. 200 employees, by closely collaborating with our external payroll agency, and the HR and Finance teams.

You can work from home, but in case you do need some face-to-face quality time with some fellow teammates, our office is open, where you are always more than welcome. Most people will come in twice a week.

What You Will Do Daily

  • Onboarding & offboarding administration (prepare employment contracts and other documents). We have approximately 5 people joining and leaving our organization each month, on average.
  • Maintain personnel database, tracking employment-related changes, prepare contract modifications
  • Keep track of pay periods, salaries, sick days and vacation days of employees
  • Work with the HR team, the Finance team, and the external payroll company to ensure that every piece of information is up-to-date and accurate
  • Prepare and manage the monthly payroll process for employees in the organization, provide support on payroll related queries to employees
  • Support the monthly finance closing

Qualifications

  • Min. 3 years of experience with similar responsibilities, 
  • Solid knowledge of Hungarian salary and payroll related law,
  • Independent personality, who can work effectively with minimal supervision,
  • The ability to handle large amount of information with an eagle-eyed attention to detail, 
  • Accurate, proactive, flexible and can-do attitude,  
  • Super-power of administration and prioritization,
  • Fluent English and Hungarian language skills.

Contract and start date

Since our payroll specialist is going on maternity leave, we’ll sign a fixed term contract with our new colleague with the option of renewal. For a smooth handover, the ideal start date is September.

Selection process

  • First, there will be a phone screen or video chat with one member of the HR team
  • Then, you will get to meet the Payroll Specialist and the Finance Manager as well

Salary range

We believe in open communication and no BS. Therefore, most of our ads include the salary range, because we don't like to waste the time of our candidates and colleagues. For this role, depending on your experience and level of expertise, the salary range is between gross 500.000 - 600.000 HUF.
