Travel: 70% In-Office | 30% Local/Central Texas Field Travel

The Role at a Glance
Hydro Resources is seeking a high-level Technical Operations Leader to manage our field-based pumping systems. This role is a hybrid of strategic operations, people leadership, and hands-on electrical engineering. We need a "unicorn" candidate who can design a complex pumping system, program the PLC, and manage the project budget all in the same day.
The Pump Manager at Hydro Resources is a high-level technical lead responsible for the design and operation of industrial-grade pumping systems. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (highly preferred) and mastery over the electrical systems that drive our business, from PLC/SCADA programming to high-voltage power for turbine engines.
The Three Pillars of Responsibility
1. Operations Management
- System & Operations Design: Design and implement efficient field operations and equipment workflows.
- Resource Planning: Manage schedules, high-value equipment assets, and logistical resources.
- Fiscal Oversight: Direct responsibility for budget management, project profitability, and resource efficiency.
2. People Management
- Team Oversight: Lead and schedule field technicians; assign the right personnel to specific sites and projects.
- Lifecycle Talent Management: Responsible for the full talent cycle, including hiring, firing, and performance management.
- Training: Develop and spearhead technical training programs to ensure the field crew is the best in the industry.
3. Technical Leadership (Hands-On)
- Electrical Engineering: Design custom electrical and pumping systems based on specific customer needs and project constraints.
- Automation: Full responsibility for programming and setting up PLC programs, PLC panels, and SCADA systems.
- Power Distribution: Expert-level knowledge of currents, voltage, and electrical power needs, particularly for turbine engines and industrial pumps.
- Future-Proofing: Strategize for future equipment and supply needs to keep Hydro Resources at the cutting edge.
Qualifications
Education: BS in Electrical Engineering (Strongly Preferred); Associate’s in Electrical Systems (Acceptable with equivalent experience).
Years of Experience: While there is no specific minimum number of years of experience required, we generally expect that eligible candidates will have 10+ years of related experience.
Key Technical Skills Required:
- Fluid Control and Pumping Systems: We are looking for candidates who understand heavy-duty fluid handling and pumps, as well as electrical control systems.
- Electrical Engineering: Ability to design custom electrical and pumping systems based on customer needs and project constraints.
- Automation Systems: Full responsibility for programming and setting up PLC programs and SCADA systems.
- PLC Panels: Experience with the design and setup of PLC panels.
- Power Distribution: Expert-level knowledge of currents, voltage, and electrical power needs, specifically for industrial pumps and turbine engines.
- System & Operations Design: Proficiency in designing and implementing efficient field operations and equipment workflows.
Professional & People Management Skills
- Team Leadership: Lead and schedule field technicians, assigning personnel to specific sites and projects.
- Talent Management: Responsible for the full talent cycle, including hiring, firing, and performance management.
