Job Description

The Solution Consultant bridges the gap between sales and delivery by supporting clients through product demonstrations, presales solutioning, and training development. This hybrid role works closely with sales, marketing, and delivery teams to craft compelling solution narratives, respond to RFPs, and design engaging training materials that promote adoption and knowledge transfer. By identifying client needs, translating business goals into technical solutions, and creating reusable enablement content, the Solution Consultant plays a key role in driving customer success and supporting internal capability building across the organization.

Essential Job Functions

Sales and Pre-sales Support

  • Prepare and deliver customized software demonstrations to prospective clients, aligned with business use cases.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and Subject Matter Experts to enhance RFP responses and sales proposals.
  • Participate in client discovery sessions and translate their needs into tailored solutions using Origin's tools and partner technologies.
  • Support the development of standardized demo workflows and collateral to increase presales consistency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain knowledge of Meter-to-Cash and Utilities CIS suites and related Origin proprietary tools to confidently recommend solutions.

Client Enablement and Training

  • Utilize automation tools and lite coding skills to develop efficiencies in Demo production and product capabilities in the demonstration presented to clients.
  • Maintain documentation libraries and update content to reflect system improvements or client feedback.
  • Research and implement new training technologies, demonstration tools, and delivery platforms to enhance effectiveness.

Skill Requirements

Required

  • Strong knowledge of Meter-to-Cash and Utilities CIS suites
  • Demonstrated experience delivering software demos or training
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Comfort working in hybrid business and technical environments
  • Prior experience with Utilities (electric, water, gas)

Desired

  • Oracle Utilities solutions experience (CC&B, C2M, CCS)
  • Experience in instructional design tools
  • Familiarity with industry compliance and regulatory standards
  • Experience in contributing to RFPs or marketing content
  • Knowledge of modern eLearning and LMS platforms

Experience Requirements

  • 4 or more years of experience in consulting, business systems analysis, or training/presales roles.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering client-facing presentations and/or training.
  • Experience in preparing or participating in software demonstrations and proposal responses.
  • Familiarity with the Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF) and/or similar enterprise systems.
  • Proven experience in translating technical capabilities into business value for non-technical audiences.

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related technical field is required.
  • Oracle Utilities Implementation Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Instructional Design or Technical Training certification is a plus.

Travel Requirements

  • Regular travel (10% top 25%) is possible for sales demos and client training

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Target: $150,000
