JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Anesthesia Technician is responsible for performing, organizing and overseeing the daily work activities of the anesthesia technicians, assuring that the daily tasks are completed thoroughly and accurately. Other duties include: orientation and mentoring of staff, problem-solving instrument issues, providing feedback for employee evaluations and budget and assisting in the Quality Improvement Process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Acts as a resource to staff, managers and physicians related to anesthesia support servIces.
* Assigns, organizes and coordinates the daily activities of the anesthesia technicians including assisting the Patient Care Manager with staff scheduling.
* Monitors anesthesia technician's job performance and coaches as needed to assure standards are being followed.
* Must fulfill all obligations and essential duties of the anesthesia technician.
* Provides input related to staff performance to assist the Patient Care Manager in writing evaluations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience and Certified Anesthesia Technician Certification (CER.A.T.). -AND- Ongoing maintenance of the CER.A.T. Certificate.
-OR-

Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience and current enrollment in a Certified Anesthesia Technologist (CER.A.T.T.) program, with certification obtained within three (3) years of hire. -AND- Ongoing maintenance of the CER.A.T. Certificate, once obtained.


-OR-

 

Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience and completion within the last two years of continuing education units that are accepted for CER.A.T.T. recertification. - AND- Ongoing timely completion of CE hours that are required to maintain the CER.A.T.T. Certificate.


-AND-

 

 

License/Certification:

  • RQI Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support
  • or
  • Basic Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA)
  • ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technician by American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians within 365 days of hire

 

 

KNOWLEDGE

These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education or licensure/certification.

* Ability to learn and evaluate new equipment and procedures quickly.
* Ability to perform work-lead responsibilities such as training and orienting new employees, assigning and reviewing work for completeness and accuracy, scheduling work, and other coordinating and support duties for a supervisor/manager.
* Ability to respond with flexibility to unusual and emergent situations, remain calm in stressful and emergency situations, work different shifts and schedules as needed, work overtime when directed by management.
* Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the job.
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds.
* Ability to work independently and prioritize duties during time of stress.
* Knowledge of location, operation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies.

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $44.59 to $50.04
