    Job Description

    We are looking for a dynamic and commercially driven leader to lead, manage and deliver the Energy and Infrastructure Finance Debt Solutions capability across a portfolio of moderately complex clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a high-performing team, driving the end-to-end design, structuring and implementation of client-centric debt solutions, and ensuring the consistent delivery of an exceptional client experience in line with the origination promise. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking and execution capability to grow lending revenues, deepen client relationships and contribute meaningfully to the overall performance and growth objectives of the business.

    Key responsibilities

    • Drive portfolio growth and strategic execution by implementing the Lending business strategy, defining data requirements, monitoring market trends and identifying opportunities to grow the IB pipeline, increase revenue and reinforce Wholesale Clients as the Go-To Lending Bank.
    • Act as a trusted lending advisor by partnering with Coverage to provide expert insights, client advice and innovative Energy and Infrastructure Finance Debt Solutions, leading client engagements and post-pitch activities to secure mandates and close transactions.
    • Lead transaction origination, negotiation and execution by managing deal teams, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, negotiating commercial terms and ensuring the successful end-to-end delivery of multiple transactions within the portfolio.
    • Own portfolio financial performance by managing deal revenue targets, monitoring financial outcomes against budget, tracking portfolio performance and proactively identifying risks, provisions and optimisation opportunities to maximise shareholder returns.
    • Manage portfolio risk and balance sheet optimisation by monitoring pipeline activity, risk metrics and client exposures, partnering with Coverage, Risk and Distribution teams to ensure effective capital allocation and sufficient balance sheet capacity for growth.
    • Provide oversight of solution structuring and deal quality by reviewing and approving financial models, deal structures, term sheets and solution recommendations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and CIB commercial, risk and regulatory frameworks.
    • Drive governance, approvals and regulatory compliance by overseeing internal approval processes, conducting due diligence and integrity assessments, and ensuring adherence to all applicable risk, regulatory and business control requirements across the portfolio.
    • Build and leverage strategic stakeholder relationships by developing strong internal and external networks that enable cross-sell opportunities, enhance market access, strengthen the franchise and support the delivery of market-leading debt solutions.
    • Lead, develop and inspire high-performing teams by allocating client portfolios, setting performance targets, providing coaching and feedback, building capability and fostering a culture aligned to leadership, diversity, inclusion and high performance.
    • Strengthen market insight and thought leadership by monitoring macroeconomic, industry, client and regulatory developments, generating actionable insights, overseeing origination content and contributing to the continuous enhancement of lending capability and client experience.

    Qualifications

    Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Business Commerce

    Concluding and leading Debt Solutions across a single portfolio i.e. product, sector, client or country. Complex debt structuring including deal expertise within Energy and Infrastructure Finance. Lobbying for support from Corporate Functions and collaborating with various product teams across a large bank. Managing disruptive transformation of Debt Solutions in an evolving macro client context.

    8-10 years
    Partnering specialist risk areas to align to business risk management requirements, policies and procedures Portfolio monitoring to manage risk and exposure. Working with and interpreting relevant regulatory frameworks. Advanced knowledge and experience in interpreting financial statements to adequately understand business and portfolio profitability

    More than 10 years
    Proven ability and experience in staying abreast with market and industry trends and providing thought leadership on Project Finance and Infrastructure (e.g. Power, Oil and Gas, Logistics) Proven ability and experience in proactively building and maintaining client (c-suite level, shareholders and board members) and external stakeholder relationships
