Execute the evaluation of the country risk and financial position under severe but plausible scenarios by developing, embedding, reviewing and maintaining the qualitative and quantitative stress testing program.
Maintain quality relationships with key stakeholders, including the regulators within the country by ensuring all regulatory and legal requirements are complied with.
Provide support to the Treasurer in order to effectively manage the balance sheet, including the liquid asset portfolio on a daily basis (the endowment hedge where applicable).
Execute the liquidity and capital plan for Mauritius and ensure the same is calibrated against the bank’s strategy and forecasts as well as the stress tests and regulatory requirements.
Assume accountability to ensure that the policies and standards relating to balance sheet management are up to date and appropriately approved.
Execute all TCM process activities to ensure the governance around capital, liquidity, funding and IRRBB management is complied with.
Perform analysis in order to report on risk adjusted metrics that enable business to intervene appropriately in order to manage risk. Develop capital performance reporting, including Return on Regulatory Capital, Return on equity as well as the whole range of RAPM metrics.
Prepare presentation packs of the stress testing scenarios and results for the appropriate governance meetings.
Stay abreast of global economic activity, market activity and regulatory requirements to identify risk/threats impacting the country in order to contribute to scenario development.
Obtain inputs from business units and risk type functions in order to run stress testing in line with the stress testing programme of work.
Prepare stress testing results and provide mitigating actions for any risk appetite breaches.
Perform any additional stress testing requested by management to inform the setting of risk appetite buffers and limits.
Maintain month-end data to enable reporting on historical compliance or non-compliance with limits and guidelines, with appropriate commentary over monthly, quarterly or annual periods.

To execute the Balance Sheet Management business process for a country by ensuring compliance to Standard Bank Group principles, country-specific regulations and best practices to manage liquidity risk, interest rate risk in the banking book, capital management, stress testing and optimize the balance sheet.

The job requires an incumbent with banking experience and a good understanding of Treasury Capital Management. Ability to perform detailed analysis.
