Job Description

We are seeking an Investments Administrator to join our finance team in Johannesburg, South Africa. This is a Contract position offering an excellent opportunity to support the smooth operation of our investment portfolio administration. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate investment records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations. You will work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, organisational excellence, and analytical thinking are paramount.

  • Administer and maintain comprehensive investment portfolio records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all documentation • Process investment transactions, including purchases, sales, and transfers, whilst adhering to established procedures and timelines • Reconcile investment accounts and statements on a regular basis, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Prepare and maintain detailed investment reports and performance analyses for internal stakeholders and clients • Monitor compliance with investment policies, regulatory requirements, and South African financial legislation • Liaise with custodians, fund managers, and other external parties to obtain necessary investment information and documentation • Input and manage investment data within financial systems and databases, maintaining data integrity at all times
  • Support the investment team with administrative tasks, including correspondence, scheduling, and file management • Conduct regular audits of investment records to ensure adherence to organisational standards and best practices • Assist in the preparation of investment committee meetings and maintain meeting documentation • Stay abreast of changes in investment regulations and market conditions relevant to the organisation's operations

Qualifications

**Required Skills and Experience:**

  • Proven experience in investment administration, portfolio management support, or similar financial administrative role
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications
  • Excellent organisational and time-keeping abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work undertaken
  • Solid understanding of investment products, markets, and basic investment principles
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements within the South African context
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Competency in data entry, database management, and record-keeping
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to identify trends and discrepancies 
  • Familiarity with the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and local investment market regulations
  • Experience with investment management systems or portfolio administration software
  • Understanding of risk management principles and investment governance frameworks
  • Knowledge of financial reconciliation processes and audit procedures
  • Previous experience working within a South African financial services organisation
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory reporting requirements
