Job Description

To provide technical support for critical Data Centre Facilities infrastructure, ensuring the continuous availability, reliability, and efficient operation of electrical, mechanical, environmental, and safety systems within the Bank's data centre environment. The role supports maintenance activities, monitors facility performance, assists with incident resolution, vendor coordination, compliance activities, and infrastructure changes to ensure a stable, secure, and resilient operating environment that meets business and service delivery requirements.

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: Electrician NQF4 (Red Seal trade tested)

Field of Study: Electrical Technician

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

  • Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP)
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Building Management Systems (BMS) certification
  • Electrical, HVAC, UPS, Generator, or Critical Facilities-related certifications

Experience Required

Technology Operations / Data Centre Facilities Management

Technology

3-4 years

A minimum of 3 years' experience in a critical facility, engineering, building services, or data centre environment. Experience supporting electrical distribution systems, UPS

systems, generators, HVAC and cooling infrastructure, fire detection and suppression systems, building management systems, and environmental monitoring systems is required. Practical exposure to maintenance management, vendor coordination, incident resolution, and change control processes within a highly available operational environment is advantageous. A basic understanding of operational risk management, safety compliance, and service management principles is preferred.
