Job Description

To ensure adherence to enterprise Data and Information Governance and data management standards across business unit, entity, and group levels. The role is accountable for delivering data integration outcomes in line with agreed milestones, and contractual commitments through effective stakeholder collaboration.

The incumbent defines, develops, and drives the adoption of data integration standards, metrics, and processes, enabling scalable and compliant data movement and interoperability within People and Culture. 

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications
Degree in Information Technology / Information Studies

Experience required

  • Minimum 8 -10 years experience in data management, governance or analytics with in-depth knowledge of data modelling, architecture, metadata, data warehouse, data platforms, cloud architecture, data integration and data security.
  • Extensive experience in managing data projects from end to end, ability to work out data cost and define data value to the business.
  • Must have experience in managing people, drawing up budgets and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated experience in data governance with understanding of information risk, privacy and protection of information and the regulations that speak to it. Must be able to understand and apply data integration practices interpret regulation and align it with business requirements. Must be able to advise business on how to manage and mitigate data risk advantageous.
  • Ability to provide oversight on the Data Integration programme to ensure adherence to data governance principles on risk, data security, compliance, and data protection and privacy. Adapt regulatory or legal restrictions, including retention and governance of the Data and Information.
  • Keep abreast of changes in technology e.g cloud technologies to understand the impact on data and associated risks. Provide thought leadership regarding data management and the optimal structuring of relevant applications to enable business objectives.
  • Lead collaboration across multiple areas of Standard Bank Group including IT, BUs, Data Practitioners (Stewards/Managers)., Risk, etc. on data by acting as Subject Matter Expert within area of responsibility.
  • Exercise authority and control over the management of data and information assets to ensure data standards are adhered to, data risks are identified and mitigated, audit findings and gaps are remediated and closed
  • Facilitate and approve the process flow of data through the environment by working closely with and coordinating efforts between Privacy, Information and Operations Risk to execute relevant policies.
