Job Description
NOTE: This role is not open to Relocation or Sponsorship. Jersey residents are eligible to apply.
To lead in-country risk execution team to support the BCB offshore propositions by embedding regulatory-compliant frameworks, governance, and controls that enable the frontline team to originate and execute deals confidently. Ensure risk decisions support strategic growth while safeguarding the franchise and client trust.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
- First Degree in Business Commerce, Risk Management
Experience Required :
- More than 10 years in Offshore (Business Risk Management/ Control & Onboarding)
- Significant experience in one or more aspects of Business Risk Management within the financial services industry specifically managing controls, testing and oversight of key risks. In addition, some experience in managing teams, dealing with key stakeholders.
Key Outputs :
- Drive the implementation of a robust quality control mechanism to ensure that the work controls operated by the Business Risk Management function are in line with the internal policies, processes, and procedures to ensure a consistent and exceptional standard of delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive compliance by implementing applicable policies, systems, processes, procedures so that all relevant risk and business control requirements are fulfilled.
- Own the in-country Business Risk Assessment and monitoring plan so that Africa offshore flows scale within risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
- Set and approve Enhanced Due Diligence standards for high-risk clients so that onboarding decisions are defensible and deal velocity is preserved.
- Oversee the implementation and control of processes relating to new clients, client reviews and screening to ensure that all new and existing clients are correctly classified according to existing guidelines (with accurate records of special, high, medium and standard risk clients and the classification reasons) to minimise risk exposure.
