Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure, resilient AWS cloud environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in protecting cloud‑hosted platforms by embedding security into network architecture, access control, and operational processes. This role requires strong hands‑on AWS experience, a deep understanding of cloud networking and security controls, and the ability to work closely with engineering and security operations teams.

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure AWS network architectures, including VPCs, routing, segmentation, and ingress/egress controls.
  • Implement and manage AWS security and network security services such as IAM, Security Groups, NACLs, AWS Network Firewall, WAF, Shield, and GuardDuty.
  • Ensure cloud network designs align with enterprise security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct security architecture reviews, threat modelling, and risk assessments for cloud workloads.
  • Partner with application and platform teams to ensure secure-by-design cloud deployments.
  • Monitor cloud environments for security events, investigate incidents, and support incident response activities.
  • Develop and maintain security patterns, runbooks, and technical documentation.
  • Stay current with AWS security capabilities, cloud threat trends, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Field of Study: Information Technology

Experience Required

  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in AWS cloud engineering with a strong focus on network and security.
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, Route Tables).
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles, including least privilege, network segmentation, and Zero Trust concepts.
  • Experience working with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001, PCI‑DSS, HIPAA).
  • Proficiency in scripting or automation (e.g. Python, PowerShell, or Infrastructure‑as‑Code).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate technical risk clearly to stakeholders.
