Job Description
To support the Manager, Financial Accounting in daily activities. These include management of accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconciliations on various General Ledger (GL) accounts, management of petty cash, trust recharges, and reconciliation of disbursement accounts.
Purchasing of currencies for both local and foreign payments. Required to ensure that all relevant account reconciliations are performed and that corrective actions are taken timeously.
Perform reconciliations and prepare reports monthly on general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and correctness. Liaise with all employees regarding invoice queries or expenses incurred.
Liaise with Business Requestors in advising correct GL and cost centres used when issuing purchase orders (PO’s) and ensure a smooth payment process.
Ensure that invoices are properly processed before payment and that no duplicate payment occurs. If duplicate payments do occur, investigate and recover these payments.
Qualifications
Type of Qualification: First Degree
Field of Study: Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting
Experience Required
3-4 years sound experience of IFRS (international financial reporting standards), policies, procedures, and processes. Accounting or related experience. Working experience in a financial institution is required.
