Job Description
- To define and implement local IT strategy, partnering with Group Technology and Country leadership, providing strategic vision and operational IT leadership for the Country Information Technology function. To deliver to clients aligned to SBG Business Line strategies, managing in-country delivery and provision of local support for Group shared solutions. To deliver to local requirement, steering investment and country technology capabilities, managing key partners and vendors as required.
- Actively participate in relevant risk governance forums including providing necessary input and escalating relevant risk issues, ensuring that prioritisation processes and discussions are well informed regarding risk mitigation work that is contending for priority with other matters Advise and influence business as a participant of the Country IT investment Board (s), optimising the IT investment, negotiating bought for services with shared Group and Regional execution structures.
- Align with the Group Information Security strategy and improve the security posture of the country, adhering and implementing directives and championing initiatives raising awareness.
- Build a high performance team through managing resources and retention of critical staff to match strategic business
- requirements.
- Build and manage long term, sustainable relationships with vendors and Group and Regional shared execution areas (managed services) to realise country technology objectives.
- Collaborate closely with teams across the organisation to provide guidance related to the digital landscape and direct the design of technology solutions to expand SBGs digital footprint in Country.
- Collaborate with Group Business Line and Technology domains to select applications/infrastructure and vendors to implement the Group and country technology plan and IT Blueprint.
- Contribute to the optimisation of user and client experience in Country through close collaboration with stakeholders to define and implement the Technology roadmap for the digital transformation strategy and requirements in Country.
- Create an understanding of possible future technology products and solutions and identify opportunities to partner with relevant local services providers to execute on Business Line (BL)/Corporate Function strategic plans.
- Deliver quality service through adequate management of change, driving improvement initiatives and use key Technology metrics to influence business decisions.
- Drive and champion a positive risk culture and attitude within the country Technology function, establishing appropriate risk oversight and governance processes and structures.
- Drive the operational stability of country systems, ensuring the IT services are reliable and optimal by directing and overseeing the relevant infrastructure and technical operations teams.
- Drive the stability and affordability of country technical operations, overseeing technical environments, infrastructure products and services, incident and problem management, disaster recovery, monitoring for the country IT portfolio.
- Engage with Business line CIO to ensure business line strategies and technology requirements are understood and technology
- solutions successfully aligned and executed to the Business and Client strategy.
- Ensure country execution against approved toolboxes, partnering with CIOs and technology practices to co-develop, innovate and improve toolboxes.
- Execute against the Country and BL strategies through delivering products, systems and processes to clients by implementing and tracking initiatives aligned to policies, business standards and other governance criteria.
- Execute on the country business line technology requirements by overseeing the delivery and maintenance of the business demand, within agreed time, quality and cost parameters, balancing supply and demand.
- Identify and establish appropriate local IT capabilities in country, based on the Business Line,Corporate Function strategic plans.
- Negotiate and contract with local suppliers,partners in line with Group Technology strategies.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies, development frameworks and industry trends through research and monitoring of local technology landscape and propose innovation to achieve Country and Group Technology objectives and strategies.
- Lead appropriate country level response and service management capabilities in conjunction with the relevant Group Technology stakeholders satisfying service stability, restoration and fulfilment requirements. Define appropriate platform, infrastructure and monitoring services and expectations for delivery in-country.
- Maintain relationships with country specific regulatory bodies through regular engagements, to keep abreast of changes to regulations and directives, and to ensure country Technology meets its technology specific regulatory requirements and statutory policies and procedures.
- Manage country specific products and solutions in line with Group Business Line and Corporate Function Strategic Technology plans and toolboxes, orchestrating the implementation and delivery of ETS services in Country.
- Manage the budget and cost of Country Technology on behalf of the country, working with Group Technology to determine the total cost of ownership of applications and infrastructure, utilising this information to inform recommendations for change or efficiency improvements to the line of business executives.
- Monitor and manage business service availability and implement contingency strategies in partnership with local service provider/vendor or Engineering Technology Services (ETS) to reduce or avoid process malfunctions and improve the sustainability of critical business applications.
- Monitor budgets against expenditure and manage IT costs in line with organisational parameters.
- Orchestrate the delivery of the digital transformation and innovation technology requirements by defining the benefits of technology to solve business imperatives, while also managing costs and risks.
- Oversee the delivery of value to the client (journeys and experience) and local team application development/deployment execution adhering to Group Technology standards and practices, promoting the universal banking experience.
- Participate in the relevant Country Boards, management committees and governance forums (e.g. Risk and Control Committee, Signature Programme Boards) injecting experience and thought leadership
- Partner with Country, Group Business Lines and Corporate Functions stakeholders in developing the technology vision and roadmap for the digital transformation and innovation requirements and influence the expansion and evolvement of the digital landscape in Country to achieve the strategic transformation and innovation derivatives.

- Provide information, status and progress reports on local execution, overall service management as required as input to crossfunctional management of information, reporting and technology across Group Technology.
- Provide operational leadership and management of the Country Technology function, delivering to the service quality and client experience standards.
- Provide strategic orchestration for the integration of service delivery from ETS and across all service providers and programme manage multiple interdependent projects to execute on Country and BL strategies.
- Provide the Country and Country Business Line executive team with advice on medium and long term strategic development of information systems and technology .
- Share information and gather insights into the efficacy of toolboxes, standards and lessons learnt, participating in Group Technology and industry forums influencing norms.
- Support the Country leadership with IT Service stability measurement and reporting, total cost and information security risk management, as well as financial recovery.
- Translate the Country and BL strategies into operational country technology strategies through engagement with the Executive team in Country and Group Technology stakeholders.

Experience in identifying, mitigating and tracking risks and country specific regulatory requirements. Experience with multi-vendor environments and managed service provider relationship management and service tacking is required.

Proven experience managing information technology in a multi-dimensional corporate environment preferably in the financial industry. Demonstrated ability to have led a business unit and team managing diverse portfolio's, driving group strategy and translating this to Business level for interpretation and steer of direction.
