Job Description

Responsible for providing assurance over the independent verification of revenue numbers for Standard Bank Namibia. This includes executing functional review, challenge and implement processes and controls to ensure accuracy of the Income Statement; and performing Balance Sheet Substantiation (BSS) to validate reported financial results.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting

The following certifications will be an added advantage:

  • Chartered Accountant 
  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA)
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

Additional Information

Experience: 

3-4 years within the Finance division in a banking environment or environment with similar technical challenge will be an added advantage. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assurance on the integrity of the Profit and Loss (P&L) results through independent daily, monthly, and annual production, validation, and analysis of revenues.
  • Manage an operating framework that ensures accurate statutory and regulatory reporting, supported by robust monthly management analysis and information packs.
  • Assume responsibility (where assigned by team leader) for Finance work streams within various project committees and ensure all Finance impacts have been considered & implemented within deadline. Analyse and explain the impact of business activities on total costs.
  • Ensure strong governance and substantiation frameworks exist across the consolidated Balance Sheet, with a focus on accounts directly attributable to Product Control.
  • Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders at varying levels of responsibility to assist them with maximizing communication opportunities to help them meet their business objectives.
