Job Description

Contribute to the implementation of adequate Credit Risk controls specifically focusing on risks encountered in the post-credit granting stage of the lending process by maintaining the appropriateness, applicability, consistency, validity, & enforceability of collateral verifying that all collateral & legal documentation in respect of banking facilities & advances granted have been obtained are in legal order & properly housed to secure assets & mitigate risks minimising financial losses.

Qualifications

  • A National Diploma in Banking & Finance, Financial Management, Risk Management or related at NQ6
  • A relevant Degree will be an added advantage

Additional Information

Experience: 

  • 3-5 years: Exposure to various legislative requirements, particularly as it pertains to credit agreements, loan documentation, & the variety of lending mechanisms & types of collateral that may be used.
  • Understanding of relevant registration processes & the bank's internal controls & processes, specifically relating to the drafting, execution.
  • Understanding of the bank's products and facilities. Understand the terms of the facilities, and the conditions that will need to be compiled with over the duration of the facility's life to ensure that legal risk is effectively restricted.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for risks associated with credit agreements by verifying that no clauses have been included that could place the bank at undue risk.
  • Assure the bank of legal protection against credit risk within set credit risk parameters by guiding and advising Collateral Officers
    on the drafting of collateral documentation.
  • Check that collateral received has been annotated on Credit Application Management System (CAMS) when scrutinized and found correct.
  • Contribute to audit compliance by addressing all shortcomings highlighted in both internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to the Credit Collateral Strategy by following compliance to all the relevant processes, procedures and policies
    pertaining to Credit Collateral Operations.
