Job Description
To lead a team of Private Bankers and support staff to deliver seamless services to Affluent and High Net Worth clients. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, enhancing client experiences, ensuring operational efficiency, and managing risks. It emphasizes fostering a high-performance culture while maintaining regulatory compliance and strategic oversight. Strong leadership and operational excellence are essential to balance business performance goals. The position offers a dynamic opportunity for qualified and experienced candidates:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business strategies to drive revenue growth and client portfolio expansion.
- Ensure seamless day-to-day banking operations by optimizing processes and removing inefficiencies.
- Ensure adherence to banking regulations, internal risk policies, and governance framework- Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to enhance product and service offerings.
- Drive cross-selling of wealth, investment, and credit solutions amongst others to maximize client value.
- Manage suite performance against revenue and profitability targets.
- Act as the primary link between the Suite’s team and other internal stakeholders including credit, Corporate and Investment Banking, and Business & Commercial Banking teams.
- Ensure optimal cost management while maintaining service excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in private banking or wealth management
- Proven track record in managing and growing a portfolio of high-net-worth clients
- Strong knowledge of financial products, investment strategies, and risk management
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools
- In-depth understanding of Malawian financial regulations and market trends
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is advantageous
- Experience in the African banking sector, particularly in Malawi or neighboring countries, is a plus
