Job Description

This role sits within the newly established Due Diligence team who will be focussed on completing client periodic and trigger reviews. Under the direction of the Business Control Unit Manager, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure client activity is understood and in line with mandate.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Key Skills & Experience

  • 5 GCSEs with minimum grade C in both Maths and English Language.
  • An AML or compliance related qualification would be an advantage.
  • The ability to review and analyse information to make risk-based decisions whilst balancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and collaboration skills.
  • An awareness of anti-money laundering regulations and requirements.
  • Previous financial services experience, preferably in a due diligence, AML or Compliance related role.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensuring adequate due diligence, including enhanced due diligence has been completed so that Standard Bank Offshore fulfils its compliance obligations.
  • Undertaking client risk assessments, ensuring that clients are correctly classified per compliance requirements.
  • Collecting and verifying information and documentation obtained where appropriate and documenting the outcomes of client reviews performed.
  • Act as a point of contact within the business in respect of account queries such as Source of Funds documentation.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to attend to KYC queries, telephone calls, obtain outstanding documents and resolve any other KYC queries to ensure all customer queries are resolved within laid down timeframes. Monitor and follow up on long outstanding queries.
  • Be willing to learn other BCU duties undertaken by colleagues and be a team player.
