Job Description

The Growth & Retention team works with millions of existing Square customers to grow their engagement with Square using scalable channels. The team runs hundreds of engagement, upsell, cross-sell and education campaigns every year across email, direct mail, social, and in-product. We are data-driven in everything we do: we carefully test and measure all of our communications, running dozens of tests at any point in time.

You will:

  • Understand deeply the lifecycle of customers on Square and identify opportunities for growth and optimization
  • Run marketing campaigns and other growth initiatives end-to-end: you will design experiments, develop campaign strategy, and drive execution of the campaign through to completion
  • Investigate and test new channels to communicate with our existing customers
  • Partner with our Analytics team to measure the impact of each campaign, and develop ways to scale
  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, legal, analytics and creative to meet ambitious growth targets



Qualifications

You have:

  • BA/BS with at minimum 5-7 years of post-university work experience
  • A strong background in a strategic marketing or product marketing role
  • A love of data and can analyze a marketing funnel; you can identify and size different growth opportunities and the various ways to meet them
  • The ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive, data-driven marketing plans
  • First-hand experience with email marketing, and get excited about things like subject lines and calls to action (we do!)
  • A creative approach
  • An energetic and willing attitude
  • Experience working cross-functionally with creatives, engineers, analysts and product managers
  • The ability to synthesize complex ideas into actionable recommendations for senior executives
  • A hungry, infectious personality: we’re looking for someone determined and able to win

Even Better:

  • Experience in B2B marketing, with exposure to both small & medium-size businesses
