The Team

The Commerce team is committed to bringing financial freedom to all our customers. Our team is at the core of Cash App’s mission—redefining the world’s relationship with money. We’re making Cash App and Afterpay the most loved way to pay for buyers and sellers by designing commerce services that are more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.

The Job

As part of the Android engineering team for Cash App Commerce, you’ll develop entirely new consumer and merchant-facing products, and enhance our existing ones. You’ll work on products that help merchants adopt Cash App Pay and Afterpay, while also improving the user experience for Cash App customers who are managing these payments within Cash App. 

You will build platforms that scale to address high-priority product needs. You’ll also pave the way for the next era of the Commerce team’s product development strategies through design, execution, and maintenance of our new products. You will work with internal teams and external partners to ensure the solutions you develop deliver first-in-class products.

You will:

  • Craft durable, well-tested code with an unwavering commitment to product quality
  • Learn to craft gorgeous, pixel-perfect UI and animations
  • Focus on all aspects of product quality, including in-depth metrics and monitoring.
  • Deliver features to tens of millions of customers, shipping at a fast and exciting cadence
  • Build new Commerce functionality into an app designed to provide real value to its customers

Qualifications

You have:

  • Experience creating readable, well-crafted, and maintainable code
  • Experience voicing customer feedback into product solutions (engineering makes substantive contributions to product definition)
  • A commitment to continuous improvement (yourself, your teammates, your software)

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $135,200 - USD $202,800
Zone B: USD $128,500 - USD $192,700
Zone C: USD $121,700 - USD $182,500
Zone D: USD $115,000 - USD $172,400
