Product Marketing Manager, Bitcoin Mining
- Full-time
Company Description
Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams — People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more — provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.
Job Description
We are looking for a product marketer who can bring analytical thinking, structure, and stakeholder management to the process of bringing Block’s bitcoin mining products to market. You will partner with our product, engineering, operations and go-to-market teams to grow our portfolio of bitcoin mining products. Based on deep, ongoing customer discovery and market insights, you’ll represent the customer voice to influence product strategy and develop the product positioning, messaging and channel strategy to drive key outcomes.
We’re a startup team and an entirely new brand called Proto (proto.xyz) within Block’s established Hardware team. The Proto team is on a mission to decentralize bitcoin mining and increase access to tools for builders in the Bitcoin mining industry, regardless of their size or location. We believe the best way to create a stronger, more robust Bitcoin network is by improving access to best-in-class semiconductor solutions, hardware, and software that serve the needs of small, medium, and large industrial miners, and developers. You’ll have the autonomy and speed of working in a small team, with the support of the larger ecosystem of Block. Beyond the Hardware team, you’ll be connected to the wider product marketing community from other parts of the company — Cash App, Spiral, and TBD and TIDAL — so you’ll have a chance to lean on experienced product marketers as sounding boards and have autonomy.
This role can be based anywhere in the US or Canada. And if you prefer an office environment, we have team-members working in offices in Toronto, and offices in other cities including New York, the San Francisco Bay Area, St. Louis, Atlanta, Philadelphia and other locations. You will report to Proto's Product Marketing Lead
You will:
Plan and implement comprehensive product launch and go-to-market strategies.
Develop and implement plans for generating leads for key go-to-market activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to guarantee seamless and successful product launches.
Develop and refine product positioning and messaging of our key products to drive market differentiation.
Lead strategy and development of the key content marketing initiatives across multiple channels and types (e.g. case studies, social media, thought leadership, blog)
Conduct end-to-end user research activities across all market segments, initiate and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders in the industry.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators for marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
You have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent of professional experience.
At least 5 years of experience in product marketing, ideally within or at the intersection of the fintech, crypto, or hardware sectors.
Proven track record of planning and executing successful product launches, go-to-market strategies and lead generation tactics.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to track and interpret key performance indicators. Proficiency in conducting and analyzing user research, including user interviews, online surveys and customer outreach.
Outstanding communication, collaboration and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
A strong passion for the Bitcoin ecosystem, along with a deep understanding of its market and community.
Experience in both B2C and B2B marketing.
